The conductor tool enables you to place conductor spans in your model and provides you with the ability to create the digital twin of existing or proposed lines.


To use this tool, click on the conductor tool in the menu bar, this will display a pole outlined in green in the perspective view. To place, left click at your desired location(s) and a pole with the conductor attached will be placed on the ground as shown below:


When using the conductor tool you can also tick Place Intermediate Poles Every x m/ft. This is particularly useful when you are wanting to place a long line down. You can click once to define the start position and click again to define the end position and a pole will be automatically inserted every x unit of distance.


Conductor Parameters

Clicking on the blue name next to the Conductor will open the conductor library, to allow the type of conductor to be modified as per specific requirements


Similarly, the pole and construction libraries by clicking on the blue name to the respective fields. This will open a library similar to above whereby the type of pole and construction can be adjusted. For more information on creating and using custom libraries, click here.



Changing and fine-tuning a line

Once a line has been placed, you will be provided with the option to alter specific features of the entire line through the Model Properties and Catenary Definitions sections in the bottom right. These allow specific adjustments to be made in order to model a line to a high degree of accuracy.
