Modulus of Elasticity

The Modulus of Elasticity (also known as Youngs Modulus) is a property of a material which defines how much the object will change its length in response to a force is applied to it along its axis. The higher the Modulus of Elasticity the less change in length the object will have in response to a force. An example of a material with a low Modulus of Elasticity would be rubber and an example of a material with a high Modulus of Elasticity would be steel.
